Specifications include, but are not limited to: Resurfacing and cleaning shoulders & ditches for 2.24 miles. All work will be within the existing right of way. 2.24 miles; The contractor shall exercise care when working near existing drainage structures (pipes, inlets, etc.). Any damage resulting from the contractor’s negligence to existing drainage structures which are to remain in place will be repaired at the contractor’s expense. All bridges, culverts, inlets, and other drainage items on the project have been located as available information allows. The contractor will be responsible for final location and elevation of all drainage items and make any necessary adjustments in the field. All material removed and not reused in the construction of the project will be removed from the project and disposed of by the contractor, at no additional cost. All highway markings and striping shall be placed back in their original locations. All Type 1 Class 1 Guardrail and end treatments shall be installed according to the current WVDOH standards at a height of 31”. No work on guardrail removal, replacement, or reconstruction will be done where the adjacent lane has not been closed. When removing or replacing rail elements, no open ends or gaps shall be left overnight, or when full traffic flow has been resumed. Any guardrail components, signs, delineators, project markers, etc. that are damaged by the negligence of the contractor will be replaced by the contractor. Care must be taken to avoid damaging underdrain, underdrain headwalls, and underground conduit when driving guardrail posts. The cost of replacing these damaged items will be at the contractor's expense and no additional payment will be allowed.
