Specifications include, but are not limited to: Foliage maintenance services to include: 1.4.1.1. Inspection of soil moisture levels and replenishment as necessary. 1.4.1.2. Inspection for soil and foliage insects, diseases (pests) and other such infestations and spraying for such. 1.4.1.3. Trimming and cleaning of all foliage, removal of debris from soil surface and addition of soil, and/or mulch to soil surface. 1.4.1.4. Rotation of plants, as possible and necessary, relative to any predominant light source in order to maintain attractive shape. 1.4.1.5. Maintenance of proper growing medium nutrient levels. 1.4.1.6. Cleaning of any planters, as necessary, including but not limited to salt residue build-up. ; Plant Maintenance Guarantee 1.5.1. Substitution/Replacement of plant(s) due to deterioration in health and appearance as specified in this ITB shall be replaced by the Bidder at the Bidder’s expense. The replacement plants will be of equal or greater value and any substitution/replacement of plant variety will require approval of UTMB Coordinator. 1.5.2. Bidder will be exempt from bearing the expense of plant substitution/replacement under the following conditions: 1.5.2.1. Occurrence of significant changes in plant location(s) without the Bidder’s prior knowledge. 1.5.2.2. Occurrence of theft. 1.5.2.3. Prolonged absence of light or malfunction of the HVAC systems. 1.5.2.4. Lack of access to the premises. 1.5.3. Upon completion of the installation of plant(s), the Bidder shall notify UTMB Contract Coordinator and schedule an inspection of work performed. The UTMB Contract Coordinator shall perform final inspection(s) within five (5) business days of the receipt of notification that the installation is complete. 1.5.4. The Bidder shall promptly correct any deficiencies found in the installation of plant as a result of the inspection by the UTMB Coordinator. The Installation Phase shall be declared complete upon final approval by the UTMB Coordinator.
