Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Vendor will: ● Provide a sustainable business model that funds the system primarily through advertising and user fees ● Provide a balanced system with minimal bicycle redistribution necessary, and rebalancing of bikes by location as need be ● Provide management and day-to-day oversight of the program ● Provide registration and reservation processes that are intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible at the bike or station, online and by smartphone ● Provide bicycles designed to be inviting to novice riders. Key features will include one-size-fits-all design, protection from dirt and grease, ease of pedaling and shifting, and high durability. Lights and reflectors shall comply with applicable state and municipal statutes ● Provide lights, locks and baskets/racks for the bikes, and the ability to lock the bike away from the kiosk or station ● Develop a marketing plan in collaboration with the Client, and create and distribute marketing materials ● Provide friendly, intuitive, and prompt customer service ● Participate in regular (i.e., monthly, quarterly) and as-needed meetings with key stakeholders to discuss program metrics, status, and ensure optimum system performance ● Facilitate a bike share system that can be expanded through membership, user fees, advertising, sponsorship, etc. ● Provide bike share services a minimum of one year (with the potential for renewal) ● Locate stations on both campuses, on public or private property if desired by sponsors, municipalities or property owners, and potentially in the public right-of-way ● Provide an open payment system that can potentially integrate with the fare systems of other local transportation options (e.g., car-sharing and transit), campus ID card/payment systems (e.g., CATcard Office), and that serves the unbanked ● Maintain the bike share system with routine upkeep and emergency repair, so it is reliable and offers a high level of service to the public ● Build on the growing bicycle infrastructure on both campuses and in Burlington, South Burlington and Winooski, burgeoning bicycle culture, local bike shops, and local entities involved in maintenance, training, and advocacy ● Provide a customizable user fee structure that includes options for people of all socioeconomic levels ● Provide an administrative dashboard showing ridership data and other performance metrics (see 1(f) in Section 2.1.3 Project Understanding and Approach for detailed performance metrics/data list) ● Provide a license to use bicycle rental management software and accompanying user information
