Specifications include, but are not limited to: –Injection molded tags constructed of 100% polyurethane or polyethylene resins. Tags must remain unbreakable in extreme cold and saltwater conditions such as those found in the Bering Sea. The tags must be permanently marked via heat stamping and indelible ink so the printing will not fade or be worn off. The tags will be used at temperatures below freezing and must be impervious to salt water at any temperature. Actual shape may vary amongst manufactures provided tags meet the minimum specifications and perform as required. Large tags shall have at least 3 lines of text, small tags shall have two lines of text (tag size specifications below). The text and tag number shall be centered. Large tags shall contain a line that reads “ADF&G”, a line that contains tag series and its respective letter (i.e., GT-15, TR-15, D-9) and 1 or 2 lines for the tag number. Small tags shall contain a line that reads “ADF&G”, and a line that contains the tag number. Examples of acceptable tag layouts are pictured above. Size – Large tags: 4” to 4.5” Tall, x 3” to 3.25” wide, x a minimum 0.125” thick in the structural area of the tag body, excluding the reinforced hole area which is at least 0.25” high. The tag narrows to approximately 2 inches towards the top to accommodate a reinforced hole with an inside diameter of 0.50”. Small tags: 2.2” to 3” length x 0.75” to 1” height, x a minimum 0.125” thick in the structural area of the tag body, excluding the reinforced hole area which is at least 0.25” high with an inside diameter of 0.50”. All tags must be freezeproof and can withstand saltwater.
