Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.2.1 The contractor shall perform timber stand improvement services on the Lamberson Memorial Conservation Area in Compartment 1, on Stands 2, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35 as indicated on the attached maps. 2.2.2 The contractor shall ensure that all personnel performing services under this contract understand all aspects of the contract agreement. 2.2.3 The contractor and/or the contractor’s employees will wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for chainsaw operations. 2.2.4 The contractor shall not dump or dispose of any containers, oil, hydraulic fluid, other petroleum products or litter on the Department's property. The contractor will remove all papers, cans, bottles, and other refuse from the area each day. 2.2.5 Public and established roads and parking lots accessible by standard pickup or car provide access to the project area during the normal operating season. The contractor may be granted access to trails that are secured with a barricade. All vehicles used by the contractor, including ATV’s, are to stay on established roadways and trails unless a Special Use Permit is issued by the Resource Forester or his/her designee. 2.2.6 All work must be performed in a manner satisfactory to and acceptable to the Department. Violations of this clause will result in termination of this contract. 2.2.7 The contractor shall carry out operations in such a manner as to cause the least damage to the habitat in the vicinity. The Resource Forester or his/her designee may terminate the operation temporarily, if the operation is detrimental to the land or it is determined to be in the best interest of the Department. 2.2.8 The contractor shall take immediate and independent action to prevent and suppress fires caused by the contractor in or near the work area. 2.2.9 The contractor shall notify the Department when hazardous materials and any other items that are prohibited by law from being disposed of in landfills are found on the area. The Department will be responsible for the removal of such items. 2.2.10 The contractor must cease cutting when visitors are in close proximity to the contractors’ equipment and will continue only when that person or persons has moved a safe distance from the cutting area.
