Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Established boundaries will be maintained with blue paint provided by the Department. Unused paint will be returned to the Department. B. Re-blaze the existing blazes on boundary line trees by refreshing the blaze on the outer bark of previously painted boundary trees. Touch up existing blazes to be repainted to give a relatively smooth surface on which to paint. Care shall be taken to leave the inner bark intact, so the trees are not damaged or killed. C. Road Crossings - Repaint one previously established painted boundary tree on each side of road with one blue band, 6 inches wide, completely circling tree at 4½’ above the ground. Repaint a ‘>’ mark pointing to state land, below the blue band (See Figure 1). Figure 1. D. Established Corner Trees - Repaint one 6-inch-wide band around all previously established witness trees at 4½’above ground. Established witness marks shall be reblazed and repainted, and the corner will be repainted. E. Line Trees - previously established painted line trees shall be re-blazed and repainted at 4 ½’ above the ground (Figure 2 as shown). 1. Previously painted trees on boundary line will be re-blazed and repainted with one mark on each side as shown. 2. Previously established painted trees less than four feet from the line shall be re-blazed and repainted with one mark facing the line as shown. 3. Previously established painted trees with the line running along one side will be reblazed and repainted with three marks as shown.
