Specifications include, but are not limited to: Responsibilities for this contract shall include lawnmowing, basic landscaping, and trash pick-up, as well as some optional hourly rates for general labor, chainsaw, power broom and basic carpentry services. Vendors shall be required to bid on four different items (2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, and 2.1.4), which are detailed below: 2.1.1 Initial Spring Clean-up – The bid item shall occur prior to spring green-up with a tentative start time during the first half of May (note: the timing may vary based on location and weather). Pricing for this bid item shall consist of two components: site inspection rates and spring clean-up rates. The inspection rate component shall consist of the contractor visiting every site in their contracted region and providing the Department with a “time and staffing” cost estimate for completing the Initial Spring Clean-up work. Estimates are required to be submitted to and approved by the Department prior to completing this work. This component shall be an hourly rate that includes staff time and a vehicle, no equipment shall be included in this rate. The initial spring clean-up rate(s) are for a one-time spring clean-up, which typically takes longer than the regular scheduled mowing and trash pick-up due to accumulated trash, gravel relocated to lawn areas due to plowing, and woody debris accumulation throughout the winter months. Under this bid item, there can be multiple hourly rates submitted, including labor for general work, a power broom rate (including an operator), a chainsaw rate (including an operator), and any other rates your company may feel are pertinent to accomplishing this bid item. Note: subsequent maintenance visits for routine mowing and trash pick-up are detailed on the bid sheet and are indicated as weekly, every other week, or once monthly. 2.1.2 Mowing and Trash Pick-up – This bid item is for work to occur following the Initial Spring Clean-up and shall occur from mid to late May through late September or October, depending on weather and location. Mowing is expected to occur throughout June, July, and August. Depending on site location and weather, mowing may continue into September. Contractors shall also remove trash and woody debris from the maintained portion of the property when performing lawn maintenance. For mowing/landscaping purposes, the maintained portion of the property refers to existing lawn area and the immediate vicinity around the ramp, dock, fishing platform, informational kiosk, portable toilet, and entrance sign. It does not include entire shorelines or require extensive removal of any woody vegetation. For trash pick-up services, the maintained area is essentially the same but shall also include any wooded or shrubby perimeters that may contain wind-blown trash or the occasional dumping of household/commercial trash. This bid item is a price per visit.
