Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University has determined that the Haas Robot Pkg-1 / UMC-500 and UMC-500 / ST-10 with Robot Pkg-1 system have many unique features essential to the University’s program. Those features include the following: 1. The Robert C. Byrd Institutes’ labs feature all Haas CNC equipment 2. Current equipment includes Haas VF2 (4), Hass ST-10 (3), Haas TM-2 (1), Haas TL-3 (1), and Haas VF1 (1) 3. This purchase will allow the addition of a Haas UMC-500 5-axis, new ST-10, and robotic arms to fit existing machines. 4. Using the same manufacturer for the 5-axis allows continuity within the curriculum with common controls and programming. 5. The lab’s existing machines are only compatible with Haas robotic arms without significant modifications, and the robotic arms also use the same Fanuc controls for the Institute’s existing Fanuc robot arms.
