Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Rhode Island (“university”) seeks a vendor to perform quarterly fire alarm tests and/or associated repairs in university facilities on an as-needed basis. This in intended to supplement in-house Alarm Services as needed due to vacancies, vacations, or medical leave. This will be hourly work scheduled on a quarterly basis at the discretion of the university’s Alarm Services Coordinator. The purpose of this service agreement is to ensure constant and proper operation of the university’s fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and NFPA rules, regulations, standards, and codes and manufacturers’ procedures. The vendor shall perform all work in compliance with NFPA, manufacturer, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements using qualified personnel properly licensed to perform such work in Rhode Island for named systems and components in various university-owned or controlled facilities. The vendor will provide copies of licenses to the university prior to starting work. Personnel must have either a journeyman fire alarm tech (Class BF) or journeyman electrician (Class B) license at a minimum and the vendor should have a Class AF (alarm contractor) or BF (electrical contractor) license.
