Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM) is soliciting competitive proposals to develop and begin implementation of a statewide, multi-media branding mascot. The branding mascot must be well-defined, creatively designed, and flexible enough to reach a diverse population across varying degrees of understanding, interest, and responsibilities with respect to emergency preparedness. DHS&EM is seeking one contractor who can support all phases of the branding mascot. The successful contractor is expected to develop a draft strategy and provide sufficient material to support the inaugural branding mascot reveal in 2023, with additional deliverables to follow. The goal of this branding mascot is to engage Alaskans in emergency preparedness with specific outcomes: 1. Learn about Alaska risks and hazards (Get Informed). 2. Plan for emergencies in their home, business, and communities (Plan). 3. Take concrete actions to create disaster preparedness kits, continue traditional subsistence and ensure that individuals, families, and businesses can function independently for seven days following a disaster (Prepare). 4. Get involved in community preparedness activities (Involve). An example of what DHS&EM is looking for is something similar to Smokey the Bear, the mascot for the US Forest Service.
