Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) seeks a contractor(s) to provide trainings, coaching, and support for educators on family literacy engagement and small group supplemental literacy instruction. This contract will support the State of Vermont’s efforts to improve literacy outcomes for prekindergarten- third-grade students. Following a train-the-trainer model, the Contractor(s) would provide in-person and virtual trainings, coaching, and support for faculty, staff, and administrators from no less than five Vermont sites (inclusive of Supervisory Unions or Districts and Adult Education and Literacy providers). The family engagement and small group literacy session trainings, coaching, and support must align and reinforce one another. All in all, the Contractor(s) will provide concrete opportunities to improve academic outcomes while strengthening family-educator relationships. The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) seeks proposals demonstrating how Contractor(s) will provide trainings, coaching, and support for educators focused on family literacy engagement and small group supplemental literacy instruction. More specifically, the AOE seeks contractor(s) to use a train-the-trainer model focused on empowering site teams to deliver: 1. Literacy family engagement workshops that empower families and schools to partner in support of students’ literacy achievement; and 2. Small group supplemental literacy sessions following an evidence-based curriculum and explicit instruction of phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension. The Contractor(s) will provide services and products focused on prekindergarten to third-grade students for no less than five sites who voluntarily agree to participate. Throughout this Request for Proposals a site is defined as school(s) or programs within a Supervisory Union or Supervisory District, including afterschool and summer programming, as well as Adult Education and Literacy providers.
