Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to evaluate the sand and gravel potential at several material sites to include Alsop Interim Material District. Sampling and analysis shall be structured to determine the quantity, character, quality and distribution of geologic materials. Samples will be collected from either drill holes or test pits. The sampling and analysis must provide a reasonable characterization of the quality and volume of the subsurface soils on each parcel. The evaluation should also approximate depth to groundwater at each site or groundwater elevation on each site. Sampling and analysis on parcels with existing material sites should be focused on locations most likely to contain the highest quantity of the highest quality material.
