Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Delaware Veterans Home is soliciting bids for one (1) full-time Medical Director. There is also an option to bid on full-time Advanced Practice Nurse services. Full details of the responsibilities of the Medical Director and the Advanced Practice Nurse can be found in Appendix B. The Minimum Qualifications for the Medical Director: 1) be board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics, or family medicine, 2) have experience in medical services in a Veterans Home setting, long term care facility, or similar setting, 3) have knowledge of VA, Medicaid and Medicare regulations and guidelines, 4) possess a license to practice medicine in the State of Delaware for the term of the contract, 5) meet federal and state eligibility requirements to participate in VA, Medicaid and Medicare, 6) possess or obtain within one (1) year from commencement of contract, certification as a Medical Director. All costs associated with certification shall be the responsibility of the successful bidder.
