Specifications include, but are not limited to: In order to collect and analyze information from the six university athletic departments needed to perform the assessment, the Task Force wishes to engage a consulting firm with expertise in college athletic health care delivery and regulations. The Task Force has drafted a questionnaire covering the information the Task Force considers most pertinent to meetings its charge. To assist with completing its charge, the Task Force seeks consulting services for the following: 1. Collect the information identified in the Task Force questionnaire from each of the six university athletic departments (Attachment A), utilizing the least disruptive methodology possible; 2. Tabulate the information into a readily available document; 3. Analyze the information in order to: a. make best practice recommendations regarding the organizational structure and managerial oversight of medical providers within the athletics departments; b. make recommendations regarding policies and procedures for investigation and resolution of student athletes’ concerns; c. make recommendations for periodic updates to athletic department policies and practices from a student-athlete health and safety perspective; and d. identify areas of concern or greatest potential risk. 4. Conduct a student athlete survey and focus group interviews at each campus to identify: a. Student familiarity with available health care services and protocols; b. Student satisfaction with those services; c. Student satisfaction with procedures for expressing and seeing resolution to a concern regarding health care services; and d. Other questions suggested by the consultant that would facilitate their review of athletic department policies and procedures for student athlete safety. 5. Make recommendations to the Task Force with regard to the organization, oversight and governance of the health care delivered to student athletes.
