Experience and growing feedback about the District’s current website indicate a variety of concerns, including the following ● Data Structure and Organization. While information accessible through the website is extensive, it is not well organized to assure ease of access to information that is most frequently sought. ● Keyword Search. Current site does not perform searches deep into website content. Orphaned pages frequently appear in keyword searches. ● Format and Presentation. The “look and feel” of the website must be updated to reflect current trends and comply with ADA regulations. ● Accessibility. New website will meet Accessibility (A11Y) requirements per ADA. Translation capability is a plus. ● Website Editing. The website must be easily editable by various user groups with granular access control per page/site. ● Template & Theme. The district website and School websites must use a district template to convey a user is still on the Hampstead website, but allow for some customizations showing school logos and information pertinent to that particular school. ● Social Media Integration. The Hampstead School District integrates social media such as Twitter into public information strategies, including links from the website. These interfaces must be customizable to allow Hampstead flexibility in which social media is used/included; The Vendor must supply comprehensive website consulting and design services providing the following scope of work: 1. Assist the District in taking an inventory of existing website information and soliciting input from different stakeholders ( ex. Parents, students, staff and members of the public) to identify the kinds of information they are most likely to seek on the District’s website. The process for soliciting input may include online surveys, focus groups, or other methods recommended by the consultant. 2. Identify, organize and edit content on the home page and first-level pages based on information gathered from stakeholders (#1 above). Information should be grouped and presented in a logical manner and require no more than three levels of drill down. 3. Working with District staff discuss, display, and design a new homepage and new first-level pages, with a new look and feel to the website. This design should be easy for users to navigate and carry a common theme from page to page. This look and feel must capture the user’s attention and have an inviting look that causes the user to dig deeper into our website to learn more about our schools. 4. Migrate identified existing content to the new website. 5. Develop one school web page, working with Technology, so that we can develop web pages for the rest of our schools.
