Specifications include, but are not limited to: The West Ada School District desires to procure lawn care and landscape maintenance services for six (6) high schools for a three (3) year term at: Eagle High School, Centennial High School, Rocky Mountain High School, Owyhee High School, and Mountain View High School. 10 MOWING/LEAVES/DEBRIS Lawn mowing must be performed one time per week, from approximately April 1 to October 31st each year and maintained as follows: 10.1 Litter, leaves, pine needles, and debris that have collected during the winter season must be removed as part of the first seasonal mowing service. 10.2 All loose trash, branches, and debris are not to be mowed over; they are to be picked up on all mowed areas prior to mowing. 10.3 Grass shall be cut once per week during the yearly service period listed below. 10.4 Contractor must mow as close as practical to all fences, curbs, walls, or buildings where applicable. 10.5 Exterior seating areas, park benches, picnic tables, and islands in parking lots must be mowed or string trimmed. 10.6 Grass must be cut at a uniform height not to exceed 3 inches, and not less than 2.5 inches. All equipment must be set at the same height in order to produce an even cut and appearance. 10.7 Each location must be cut within a two-day period. 10.8 No mowing is to take place when students and staff are within forty (40) feet. 10.9 Leaves and other debris shall be removed from site at each visit. Leaves in the fall shall be addressed on each visit as needed. When all leaves have fallen from trees, a major cleanup shall be done of all maintained areas. This would generally take place within the month of November. 10.10 Grass clippings, dirt, dust, and any other debris must be removed from all plant beds, sidewalks, ramps, driveways, parking lots, and parking lot islands after each mowing. Power blowers, vacuums, and sweepers are permitted. 10.11 Grass clippings must be mulched or removed with a mower equipped with a clippings bag. No “wads” or piles of grass clippings will be allowed to remain on the lawn or turf after mowing. 10.12 Care must be taken to prevent clippings and debris from being directed into irrigation canals, storm water retention areas, streets, gutters, or storm sewer inlets. 10.13 All trash barrels that have a turf area located beneath will be shifted each week to mow and allow the turf to recover properly from a lack of sunlight and moisture.
