Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bridge Repair Scope of Work: 1. Remove existing bituminous wearing surface from the structure. 2. Install cribbing to jack SW corner of bridge deck and remove approximately 16β of the existing timber cap to the fourth pile from the south. 3. Excavate behind SW corner of the west abutment to remove pile stays. Existing pile stays shall be salvaged for reinstallation. 4. Install two 4x4x6β angles on piles that will support the new timber cap. Utilize thru bolts to attach the angles to the timber piles. Treat all cuts/drilled holes with supplied Copper Naphthenate treatment. 5. Install new timber cap and lag bolts to attach the pile angles to the timber cap. Treat all cuts/drilled holes with supplied Copper Naphthenate treatment. 6. Install two new timber spreader beams at span ΒΌ points and additional bolts in existing spreader beam to meet current standards. 7. Shim all spreader beams for proper tightness. 8. Reinstall pile stays, backfill excavation up to pavement bottom with Coarse Aggregate for Structure Backfill. 9. Remove Pile cap curb blocks at all corners and treat top of caps and ends of caps with Copper Naphthenate. Salvage existing hardware for re-use. Fill existing holes with a timber compatible twopart epoxy. All epoxy material to be supplied by the contractor. 10. Install new Timber Curb Blocks. Shift location of hardware so as not to go into same drive spike holes as existing. 11. Treat tops of all timber rail posts and any areas that appear dry or rotted with Copper Naphthenate. 12. Air blast clean deck and notify County that paving can be completed.
