Specifications include, but are not limited to: Proposer will submit a comprehensive plan describing the process by which it will perform the inspection. This plan will include but not be limited to the areas listed below for pre-production, on-line production, post-production and delivery including Pre Award and Post Award Buy America Audits. The plan shall include list of contractor personnel who will be directly involved with Trinity Metro procurement department. The contractor proposal should address the following areas: • Experience with performing on-line inspections at the manufacturer’s plant. • Provide checklists to be used during pre-production, on-line inspection, post-production, and pre-delivery inspection. Pre-Production • Determine contractor staff to perform inspection. • Meet with Trinity Metro personnel to explain how your process works. • Review Trinity Metro technical specifications and identify areas that may be a concern and might need review due to the production process. • Determine what, if any, approved equals might be acceptable. This could occur during the production process and will need to be approved. • Provide checklists to be used during on-line inspections and make modifications recommended by Trinity Metro personnel. • The production process shall meet all FMVSS and SAE standards On-Line Inspections • Progress reports shall be submitted at least twice per week and should include but not be limited to: o List of noted defects not corrected by OEM o Any major deficiencies identified and OEM resolution o Any areas of concern inspector identifies not resolved by OEM o Any recommendations for change orders o Proper joining of the basic frame assembly with welds and huck bolts o Proper joining of body and chassis o Proper installation of insulation o Proper installation of suspension system including alignment o Proper installation of power train and installation of sub-components o Inspect fabrication of electrical harnesses prior to installation in vehicle to ensure minimum splices, connectors, etc. o Special emphasis on routing/securement of all electrical and plumbing o All securement devices (bolts) should be torqued properly and are of proper grades o Proper operation and fit of doors and windows o Proper installation conduits for cameras, antennas, and radio o Proper installation of Destination Sign o Proper installation of all seating o Proper installation of HVAC and all sub-components o Proper installation of Q-pod wheelchair securement system o Ensure painting/undercoating is accomplished properly o Interior/exterior lighting operation
