Specifications include, but are not limited to: Possess education, training and experience to serve as a specialized Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for a depleted uranium (DU) radioactive materials license as required by the New Mexico Environment Department Radiation Control Bureau. 15.2.2 Maintain approved RSO certifications and obtain written approval from the New Mexico Environment Department Radiation Control Bureau to serve as RSO on license #DU103-23. 15.3 Task 1: Serve as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMIMT) Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) Radioactive Materials License #DU103-23. 15.3.1 Achieve compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. 15.3.2 Prepare all required paperwork to submit the renewal application for license #DU103-23 to the New Mexico Environment Department – Radiation Control Bureau (NMED-RCB). 15.3.3 Provide technical support to comply with the renewed DU license for NMIMT-EMRTC. 15.4 Task 2: Update the remediation plan to reflect the true scope of remediation, including, but not limited to inventory, site surveys, characterization, cost estimates. 15.4.1 Present updated remediation plan and recommended actions to institutional leadership. 15.4.2 Establish a comprehensive radiological control program for radioactive materials. 15.4.3 Create a radiation safety plan to provide the necessary procedures, guidance, and information for the safe storage and handling of radioactive materials prior to remediation. 15.4.4 Provide outreach to regulatory authorities and non-regulatory stakeholders to establish the regulatory pathway and approvals for remediation and decommissioning
