Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District requires a Supplier to purchase and retrieve its obsolete text and library books from individual schools and administrative sites. The District may consider offerings incorporating either an element or a full consignment sales program; also subject to the requirements herein. For obsoleted books having no resale value, the Supplier shall arrange and ensure all books are recycled in an environmentally responsible manner. 5.2 Specific Retrievals: The Supplier shall accomplish, ensure, provide, and support: a. Upon notification, schedule an appointment to pick-up and remove all surplus textbooks and associated learning materials from each school/department location. b. Conduct retrievals within 30 days of notifications unless requested differently, c. Sort/categorize and package books by type (i.e. ISBN, resale value Yes/No), d. Provide quotation indicating: school/department name, ISBN(s) and title(s), quantities, unit and extended pricing, total price, indicate general information for books having no resale value that will be recycled, e. For accepted quotes, issue a corporate check to the School or District Administrative Department prior to removing the books. Issuance of checks to an individual is strictly prohibited, f. Remove all books regardless if materials do not have resale value, and recycle in compliance with all Environmental Protection Agency guidelines and all other applicable laws, orders, guidelines, rules or regulations relating to disposal. g. Title and responsibility for books transfer to the Supplier upon issuance of the check, h. Restore the “holding area” to its prior condition, i. Remove all debris/refuse (i.e. boxes, packaging materials) generated by the work from District property. Do not utilize District trash receptacles, j. Other as reasonably requested by the District.
