This capability is necessary to reliably identify counterfeit and street-level drugscontaining fentanyls and other opioids, which typically contain a high percentage of cuttingagent. The mass spectrometer should be able to identify trace amounts of drugs whichhave been applied to or otherwise embedded in paper or other material for the purpose of smuggling the illicit drugs into prohibited areas, such as prisons. Fentanyl Classification The mass spectrometer must be able to alarm to a suspect or novel fentanyl analog whichcannotbedirectlyidentifiedbasedonthedevice’sonboardlibrary.Thirdpartyperformance testing is required to ensure validation of performance against drugs
