Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Alaska Railroad Corporation (“ARRC”) is soliciting bids from interested parties to deliver Type 3 Ballast to designated location at ARRC Birchwood Yard. Interested parties are invited to submit a bid to provide said product to ARRC. Material Composition: The ballast shall be crushed shot rock, composed of hard, strong and durable particles, free from injurious amounts of deleterious substances and conforming to the following test standards. Some testing criteria’s do not have listed standards; however, these tests must be run to verify material quality for possible future project requirements. All produced ballast shall be manufactured to conform with AREMA requirements for mainline ballast, Gradation number 3.
