Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Topeka is seeking bids for snow removal and salt spreading services. a. Contractor shall supply trained and experienced staff to operate the below listed items: i. Class 2 to Class 5 four wheel drive trucks equipped with an 8 foot straight or V-plow. ii. Class 7 and Class 8 trucks with 10 to 11 foot plows. iii. Motor graders or other heavy equipment with Snow Pushers for heavy snow plowing. iv. Wheel loaders for snow storage yard work and intersection clean out. v. Salt spreading equipment. b. Area of service will be decided by the City of Topeka. c. Each bidder must provide the number of pieces of equipment that will be available and used for the City’s contract if awarded. Each piece or unit of equipment shall be fitted with high intensity amber flashing beacons or strobe lights visible from all sides. d. All equipment must be furnished entirely operational, street legal, and completely fueled. e. All equipment must be made available for the City’s inspection prior to awarding the bid. f. The selected Contactor shall be responsible for all equipment maintenance, fuels, repairs, and damages. .
