Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project includes removing and replacing air release valve assemblies at 6 locations along the Brunswick Effluent Transmission Main. The Contractor will be required to remove and replace the manhole flat top and manhole cover the assembly is located within and replace the air release valves, butterfly valve, and other associated appurtenances as indicated on the drawings. In order to complete the work, the contractor will need to drain/depressurize the main. Draining or depressurizing the main may be accomplished through opening the valves on the blow off assemblies or pig launch stations or through other approved methods of isolating and depressurizing the air release assemblies. If the contractor chooses to use the blow off assembly or pig launching station to drain the line they will need to cut in a new valve on the blow off assembly line or stack a new valve on the existing pig launching station valve. Carson City will provide the air/vacuum valves and butterfly valves to be installed by the contractor. The project includes all common phases of construction customarily associated with this type of project. It is noted that removing and installing the 20-inch butterfly valves are NOT a part of this project.
