Specifications include, but are not limited to: Los Alamos County (County) is seeking a contractor(s) to provide horseback riding lessons and equestrian therapeutic and hippotherapy services to the public at the County’s North Mesa Horse Stables. Successful Contractor/s shall compensate the County for the right to provide horseback riding lessons, to include pleasure, dressage, eventing, show, and western riding, and equestrian therapeutic and hippotherapy services for the general public, at North Mesa Horse Stables, which is owned and maintained by Los Alamos County. The Services must meet a broad range of needs and demographics. All programs must be evidence based and successful contractor(s) must provide metrics demonstrating participants satisfaction and progress of Services. All Therapeutic Services shall be conducted in a manner to adhere to the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (“PATH”) and/or American Hippotherapy association guidelines and standards. 1. Hours of Operation – The offeror as part of its proposal must present a proposed three (3) month schedule of the Services, identifying programs and offerings to be provided by offeror. This schedule must include days of the week, proposed hours of operations and frequency of programs and services. Upon contract award, the final schedule must be agreed upon by Community Services Department (“CSD”) and successful contractor(s) ninety (90) days in advance to ensure the programs and offerings are included in the CSD Activity Guide. Schedules may be adjusted, upon CSD approval, as may be necessary to meet the needs of the program and for special events. 2. Services shall be conducted in a clean, orderly and legitimate manner, and in strict conformity with all applicable laws and ordinances, as well as all appliable association guidelines and standards. The successful contractor(s) must ensure that each of its instructors are certified or licensed for the appropriate Service; for example, those providing equine therapy shall be a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor as credentialed by PATH or approved equivalent. 3. Licenses and Permits - Successful contractor(s) must possess and maintain necessary permits and licenses, as required by federal, state and local statutes and ordinances, as well as all appliable association guidelines and standards. 4. Equipment - Successful contractor(s) shall provide all equipment and all supplies necessary for full operation of the Services, including but not limited to livestock and tack. Successful contractor(s) shall be responsible for care and maintenance of County property and shall replace or repair any damaged property in a manner that meets the County’s standards.
