Code §18-9D-19a states comprehensive middle schools must provide opportunities where students are provided: with a comprehensive curriculum with embedded career exploration and project-based career activities; career development, and counseling; and learning and life connection exoeriences for all students. The EdVenture Grouo will examine students'. The data that the EdVenture Group will be collecting and evaluating will allow the WVDE to ensure that students are receiving career exploration opportunities before choosing a career pathway. With an outside organization collecting the data, the data will be impartial and allow for an unbiased analysis of the data in an effort to provide students with comprehensive career exploration. W. The EdVenture Group will examine students', school staff's, and caregivers' attitudes, knowledge, and comfort toward career exploration across middle school a five-year timespan. The EdVenture Group will develop and deliver post-module survey for each module in the curriculum in order to examine students' actual and perceived knowledge gains of that particular career cluster. The surveys will provide opportunities for the Discover Your Future students to communicate their suggestions for module improvements. During the first year of data collection, the EdVenture Group will collect data from students who have participated in Discover Your Future and from students who did not participate. The EdVenture Group will work with local education agencies (LEAs) to collect and analyze data from school staf((instructors and counselors) in both schools that utilize the Discover Your Future curriculum and those that do not. The EdVenture Group will develop and implement surveys and semi-structured interviews to assess caregivers' knowledge, understanding, and attitudes toward career and technical education.
