Specifications include, but are not limited to: Pleasant Grove City is requesting proposals from water meter/AMI providers for 7,500 secondary water meters ranging in size from ¾” to 2”. Labor and miscellaneous parts (couplers, curb stops, fittings, etc.) for installing the meter hardware are NOT included as part of this proposal. Design and support for installing tower-related hardware or other data communication collectors or hardware IS included and should be considered in the cost for towers and/or collectors, if necessary. Currently, there are no existing secondary meters. The City desires to complete full deployment within two years. The City desires to purchase the meters and contract installation. The City also operates a culinary water utility and is considering compatibility and/or adaptability for a future culinary water integration. However, the merits of the proposal for secondary meters will stand alone. There are no existing meters for secondary water. There are approximately 9,000 existing culinary Sensus or other meters. The most recent installations are Sensus Iperl. 2,200 are of Sensus meters equipped with drive-by radio read MXU and the balance of 7,800 are touch-read end points. The City currently has UTOPIA fiber with 90% coverage/access across the City. Pleasant Grove utilizes Caselle for billing data and Xpress Bill Pay for the customer interface. The City’s secondary water supply can sometimes by turbid and contain particulates including sediment, shells, moss, and algae. Static meters that do not require moving mechanisms and have “through-pipe” type methods are required. The City desires a “turn-key” solution as much as practical for secondary meter/network/reading/billing installation/setup infrastructure and on-going operations.
