Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this request is to fund an organization composed of current and past adult learners that supports Adult Education students and the DOE funded Adult Education programs that serve these students. These supports are in the areas of: student persistence, student academic progress, civic engagement and leadership training. The goals of this grant are: (1) support of current adult learners in their efforts to complete a high school diploma and transition to post-secondary training or education and/or employment; (2) raise public awareness on the importance of adult education and its impact on employment, children’s success in the K12 system, and active community involvement; (3) provide opportunities for adult learners to participate in community service activities; (4) provide leadership training and activities; (5) seek and share adult learners opinions on adult education programming leading to program improvement.
