Specifications include, but are not limited to: RIPTA seeks a qualified consulting firm (or team of firms) to assist RIPTA’s Division of Strategic Advancement on an ongoing basis in the development and implementation of a bus stop improvement program. Tasks will include conducting a bus stop inventory; developing a bus stop improvement work plan, budget, and timeline; providing design and engineering services; gathering public input and feedback; and providing oversight of bus stop construction activities on an as-needed basis. Key goals of the bus stop improvement program include establishing a high standard of quality and accessibility for all bus stops and doubling the number of bus shelters systemwide. RIPTA has completed preliminary work related to these goals, including preparation of bus stop design guidelines and early design and specification of bus stop signage, shelters, and associated amenities.
