Specifications include, but are not limited to: 7. City Inspection. The City will inspect the project. 8. Quantities. Quantities for materials are estimates only. 9. Contractor’s Taps. The connections at Woodland and 14th; Jeanette & 18th; Heiserman & 18th; 13th & Burns; 16th & Salina; 17th & Woodland; 18th & Burns (both sides), 19th & Burns; 20th & Burns; 18th & Woodland; 18th & Salina and 19th & Salina are to be Contractor’s Taps for a total of 13 Contractor’s taps. 10. Ductile Iron Joints. Ductile Iron joints are to be restrained unless approved by the City Engineer in specific locations. 11. Restraint Joint Pipe. Restraint joint pipe shall be installed at all locations, regardless of installation method. Slip joint pipe will not be allowed. 12. Encroachments. Right-of-way Encroachments. The contractor will be required to notify adjacent property owners 7 days prior to removing any right-of-way encroachments to install the water line. The contractor shall only remove/salvage to the adjacent property owner when it is necessary to install the water or service lines. The cost to remove and salvage any right-of-way encroachments (fence, landscaping brick, railroad ties, etc.) shall be considered subsidiary to the bid item “Site Clearing”. 13. Utilities. Sheets detailing locations for AT&T, KGS and Evergy are schematic only and were not recorded from field information by the City or the consultant. These locations are for general reference only and may not be complete or accurate. 14. Material Acquisition. If material delivery is delayed and will affect the working days allocated to the project, the contractor must submit documentation from suppliers and manufacturers detailing the delay and anticipated delivery date. Standard form letters will not be accepted.
