Specifications include, but are not limited to: Grass should be cut at 3” (inches) or taller, especially during drought conditions. The bank areas around containment/runoff ponds, should be cut no lower than 6” (inches) to avoid scalping. Agencies may request an adjustment in cutting height during the life of this contract. Some locations require the grass clippings to be bagged and removed. For areas that do not require the removal of grass clippings, a mulching mower is acceptable. Grass clippings need to be blown from walks and parking areas after every visit and before contractors leave the site. All elements of the lawn maintenance cycle shall be completed the same day they are started. No partial mowing will be allowed unless the weather forces delay. If rain or wet turf conditions exist, contractor shall finish the cycle as soon as favorable conditions exist. During mowing, all mower chutes will direct grass clippings away from any buildings, vehicles, parking lots, outdoor air conditioners, interpretive signs, lighting or any mechanical equipment. Mowing may include, but is not limited to, lawn areas, fields, retention ponds, along roadways and any other location an agency may request.
