Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Substance Use Prevention Project Director will be responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and evaluation of opioid abuse prevention activities for the City of Augusta’s Project Recovery Program. Project Recovery will be part of a unified approach to addiction recovery that will draw on the public health focus of the City of Augusta Fire/EMT Department to leverage resources in harm reduction and treatment as well as job training and placement, housing, and other forms of support critical to the recovery of individuals with substance use disorder. • Administration of SAMHSA grant applications and reporting requirements; • Coordination of substance misuse prevention activities within the project scope; • Collection of data required for grant reporting and program review; • Oversight of the Project Recovery budget, including monitoring expenditures for appropriateness; • Establish relationships with municipal partners including police, fire and EMS to address education, training, and technical assistance needs; • Coordination of training and education opportunities for municipal partners; • Implementation of appropriate outreach strategies for community members, human service organizations, and community partners to promote a better understanding of the goals of Project Recovery.
