Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Kansas seeks proposals to replace the existing HPC (High Performance Computing) cluster and research file storage arrays. Today the University operates 500 TB of Panasas storage attached to an HPC cluster. Additional research file storage consists of two IBM Spectrum Scale arrays. Each array contains 1,200 TB of storage. One array is installed on the Lawrence campus and is the primary storage location for researchers. The second is installed at the University of Kansas Medical Center campus and is used as a replication target to back up the data on the Lawrence campus. In the future, we seek to combine the two storage services into a single platform. This will include one array of 2,200 TB on the Lawrence campus consisting of fast NVME cache and traditional disk. 1,000 TB of the Lawrence campus array will be used for HPC cluster storage, and the remaining 1,200 TB will be designated for research file storage. A second array of 1,200 TB of traditional disk will be located on the University of Kansas Medical Center campus and used as a replication target to backup the research file storage data on the Lawrence campus array.
