Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 The new dog park will be located at Jones Park, 325 Wilson Ave Dr SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404. The dog park will be approximately 10 acres in size with a main dog yard, small dog yard and a training yard. The dog park will see daily use and will include walking trails, shelters, seating areas, and agility/training equipment in the training yard. The dog par must be ADA accessible and will include water, electrical and other site furnishings as needed. 2.2 This project will also include the design of a new access roadway and parking lot for the dog park. The access road will come off of C Street SW and will cross an existing wooded area and drainage way to get to the area of the proposed dog park. 2.3 This project is located in the area of Jones Park that was previously the Jones Park Golf Course. The project area is more specifically shown on the drawings (see attachments) but the actual site may vary somewhat as the Consultant views the actual property and takes into account existing conditions and the needs of the users. The final site of the project will be selected by City Staff with the help of the Consultant. 2.4 Consultant shall provide professional design consulting services to the Parks and Recreation Department. Consultant shall provide site research and investigation, preliminary design and cost estimates, public outreach for stakeholders and interested citizens, final designs, construction documents and cost estimates, and project oversight during the bidding and construction phase of the project. 2.5 Consultant shall provide a preliminary timeline/schedule for the above stated Work. 2.6 Consultant shall provide a listing of key personnel and experience as well as examples of similar projects that have been designed and completed with contact information. 2.7 Consultant shall address the following items listed below as well as any other items that are inherently associated with completing the project: 2.7.1 Once Consultant is selected they shall hold a kick-off meeting with key Parks and Recreation and City staff to review the project scope and timelines. 2.7.2 Consultant shall perform any research and surveys needed to develop base information for the project design. 2.7.3 Once preliminary design and cost estimates are completed for the project the consultant shall present their design solutions to the Parks and Recreation Department for approval before proceeding with the design further. 2.7.4 Once 30% design drawings are complete, the consultant shall prepare a set of drawings, pictures and narratives to be displayed on boards to be used by Parks staff and the Consultant to hold public input meetings with interested stakeholders and interested public citizens. 2.7.5 Consultant shall review stakeholder and public input and revise the design with input from City staff. 2.7.6 Consultant shall provide City staff with 95% final construction documents and specifications as well as a revised cost estimate and project construction timeline. Once staff has reviewed the 95% plans and made any comments or changes the Consultant shall proceed to final plan, specifications and final cost estimate. 2.7.7 Final plans shall include all drawings, details and specifications needed to bid and construct the Jones Dog Park. 2.7.8 Consultant shall provide the City with five (5) printed 11x17 construction documents and detailed specifications. Consultant shall provide the City with all electronic files needed to print and distribute the plans and specifications for bidding. 2.7.9 Consultant shall provide the City with all the base information, final drawings, etc. in an AutoCAD compatible format. 2.7.10 City staff will provide any electronic drawings that are available to the Consultant for the project as well as access to any files needed for the design.
