Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Topeka (City) is requesting proposals for professional engineering services for Project No. 841091.02 “Summerfield Neighborhood” (the Project). The neighborhood is entered via SW Fairlawn Road and includes the following streets: SW Summerfield Drive, SW Red Hawk Court, SW Fieldcrest Court, SW Timber Ridge Court, SW Cobblestone Place, and SW Stonebridge Court. Below is an exhibit for the Project limits. The services include determining the exact scope and limits of the project (items to consider are to include, but are not limited to, replacement of deteriorated curb and gutter, inlet tops, sidewalks and ADA ramps; full-depth concrete pavement replacement; asphalt mill and overlay; and full-depth patching). Coordination of private utilities will also be required, and improvements to City-owned utilities (sanitary, storm, and water) should also be considered). Design and construction will occur in 2023. The result of the above work will result in the provision of an engineering design and construction documents for the completion of the final concept to be constructed for this roadway. Basic Services provided may include, but are not limited to the following: Meet with City staff at critical stages throughout design. Perform field and topographic surveys. Perform CCTV inspections of all enclosed storm sewers with the project limits. Perform investigative soil borings. Coordinate with other City utilities and private utility owners. Design roadway improvements including curb and gutter, storm sewer, and pavement markings/signing. Prepare temporary easement, permanent easement, and/or right-of-way descriptions as necessary. Develop a traffic control plan to carry local traffic. Develop and submit conceptual drawings (30% complete) with an estimate of probable construction costs (EPCC). Develop and submit field-check drawings (60% complete) and an updated EPCC. Facilitate two (2) public meetings: the first to be held after field-check drawings are complete to introduce residents to the project and gather input; the second to be held after the bid letting, but prior to construction. Develop and submit office-check drawings and project manual (90% complete) and an updated EPCC. Develop and submit final drawings, project manual, invitation to bid, bid form, and a final EPCC for the purpose of bidding the project. Respond to questions from prospective bidders as necessary. Prepare addenda as necessary. Prepare a tabulation of bids and make a recommendation of award for construction
