Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas, on behalf of the Planning Department, is accepting bids for boarding and securing three vacant structures. Oriented strand board (OSB), minimum of 7/16", shall be placed over windows and doors. Installing OSB boards shall be cut to fit and painted to a color that blends with the structure. Boards should be attached with 3" wood screws. The City must approve all materials and paint colors. As necessary, the remaining broken glass shall be removed from window openings. before installation. Windows and similar openings shall be boarded with one continuous piece of OSB cut to match the dimensions of the inside of the exterior window casing so that when installed the sheeting will fit tightly and not permit a tool to be placed behind it. Excess and unused materials will be the property of the City. Once secured, no space shall exist between the sheeting and the exterior window casing. In the event, installation is impractical due to excessive frame, door, or wall damage, sheeting shall be placed over the exterior window casing such that the sheeting material covers the entire window casing and extends beyond the window casing at least 8" on center–or–may be affixed and secured in another manner pre-approved by the City in consultation with the property owner, general Contractor, architect, and if necessary the state historic preservation office and the City of Hot Springs Historic District Commission. All equipment and tools shall be furnished, operated, and maintained by the Contractor.
