Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting bids from qualified contractors to add two new offices in Fire Station 12-6, located at 8878 N MIKE ARDAW RD, near mile 64.5 of the Parks Hwy. The existing station has one large room and two new offices shall be added for privacy. The office tile floor, and drop ceiling shall remain. 1.1. All work shall comply with the current applicable code requirements of the IBC, IMC, NEC, UPC, IFC and current State of Alaska Amendments as implied by the type of construction and building use. Any omissions in the work scope to meet current code requirements shall be the responsibility of the contractor to correct at their cost. 1.2. All work must follow current OSHA safety standards. 1.3. Contractor shall have licensed designers submit stamped drawings for all electrical & structural design 1.4. Fire Chief has indicated Fire Marshall approvals do not apply & are not required for this remodel 1.5. Contractor shall construct 2 offices (inside room dimension 9ft x 12ft). A. New walls shall have sound batt insulation between studs, be finished with drywall, tapped & textured, and painted. B. Walls shall be secured to concrete floor with radiant heat and metal framing above drop ceiling. If concrete anchors are used, Thermal imaging must be done to locate floor anchors between heat tubes. Any tears made in vapor barrier shall be repaired. C. Existing floor tile will remain in place. Walls shall be installed over existing tile and work done so as not to damage flooring D. Each office shall have a 36” wide door with lockset E. New trim & doors shall be painted F. Existing Walls shall be painted (See Plans, est 76’ long x 10’ high) G. Drop ceiling tiles and ceiling lights shall be reconfigured & replaced, as needed, to allow for new office walls H. New offices shall have additional electric outlets added per code I. New offices shall have separate light switches and lighting locations re-configured to office work areas J. New 110v outlet shall be added above drop ceiling for EMS radio connection (front NW corner) K. Pre-const. Cover any remaining items in work area with drop cloths and cover floor tile during construction. Keep construction dust from migrating.
