Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Incorporated County of Los Alamos is soliciting proposals for uniform rental, maintenance, and laundering services from qualified firms for the Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”) Electric, Gas, Water, and Sewer employees as defined in this RFP. The successful Offeror must demonstrate consistent quality and reliability, including conformance with all applicable health and safety requirements. DPU has approx. 100 employees with a wide variety of jobs, certifications, and skills. DPU services 4 utilities, electric (production and distribution), gas, water (production and distribution), and wastewater for a population of approx. 20,000. Employees for our Gas, Water, Sewer (GWS) division must be certified to work on all 3 utility systems. There are two union contracts with DPU, International Brotherhood of Electrical Works and Plumbers and Pipefitters. There are 12 electric employees who require NFPA70E FR standard uniforms. Between Gas, Water and Sewer divisions there are 45 employees who require 100% cotton long sleeve uniforms. 1. The successful Offeror/selected Contractor shall provide uniform rental and laundry. 2. Contractor shall provide uniforms with County logo in conformance with County Brand Requirements. 3. A uniform shall be defined as one (1) pant and one (1) shirt. Contractor shall provide uniforms in fresh, clean, and wrinkle-free condition. 4. Contractor shall always provide uniforms free of patches, frays, holes, tears, and stains. 5. All uniforms supplied by the Contractor shall be NEW and UNUSED and will remain the property of the Contractor and are provided to the County for employee use during assigned working hours while engaged in County business. 6. The County reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantities stated as it deems necessary. 7. New employees added to the service after the beginning of the Agreement shall also be furnished with new and unused uniforms. 8. During the Agreement period, the Contractor shall inspect all soiled uniforms for rips, tears, lost or broken buttons, defective mechanical fasteners, etc., and necessary repairs shall be made before uniforms are returned to employees with no additional cost to the County.
