Specifications include, but are not limited to: The 240+-acre property of Expo Idaho has over 150 events per year which amounts to over 600 event days a year, from September through July. The month of August is reserved for the setup, execution, and tear-down of the annual Western Idaho Fair. Expo Idaho is the home to several large trade shows, private, family, and corporate events, public celebrations and festivals, flea markets, RV, car and boat shows, concerts, sporting events, and the Boise Music Festival each year. Most of these events take place on the weekends and on most weeks, there are several events going on at the same time. Events take place indoors and outdoors. Security is needed at most of these events to ensure public safety. Event security could include gate security and bag checks when requested by renters of the facility, roaming buildings and grounds to ensure codes of conduct are met by event attendees, and ensuring the property is secure after each event. All renters of the facilities are given the option to request additional security for their events. When additional security is requested, those guards could be asked to stand watch at the doors and/or gates of the facility, assist in crowd control, overnight security, and/or assist the Expo Idaho Security Coordinator with issues that could arise during an event. When additional security is requested by the renter, the directive of what is needed from the security staff is communicated by the renter of the facility. At times the Expo Idaho Security Coordinator will communicate the duties of the security staff for such events. At the end of each event, the Expo Idaho Security Coordinator will give the all-clear to vacate the event for all security personnel.
