Specifications include, but are not limited to: SCDMV is seeking bids from qualified Contractors to build and install 91 custom counter barriers (sneeze guards) at customer service representative workstations in 46 of the agency’s 66 branch office locations across South Carolina to ensure the well-being of our employees and customers. The goal of the project is to limit the exposure of SCDMV employees and customers to infectious disease from airborne viral droplets by establishing a physical barrier between employees and customers conducting transactions at SCDMV workstations. Working in coordination with the SCDMV facilities management team, the Contractor will customize and install counter barriers dependent on the width of each workstation counter. For this solicitation counter barriers a support structure (referred to as the “frame”) which can be permanently mounted to existing infrastructure in the office and a transparent Plexiglass barrier (referred to as the “pane”) which will fit into the frame and must be capable of being removed and installable by SCDMV employees. The pane will include a device that facilitates employee and customer voice interaction (referred to as a “no draft speak thru”). The Contractor will install a total of 91 counter barriers across the 46 designated offices (see Exhibits A and B) in accordance with an installation schedule coordinated with the SCDMV facilities management office which shall be provided to SCDMV within 15 days after award. Installation will occur on days/times when offices are closed to the public and may require installation on Saturdays or weekday evenings. All offices are open 8:30-5:00 Monday- Friday, except for Allendale and McCormick which are only open Wednesdays. The Contractor will have access to construct barriers at each office location to ensure exact fit.
