Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Safety Inspections Pursuant to California Highway Patrol vehicle codes 34500, 34505, 34505.5 and Title 13 CCR 1232, safety inspections must take place every 3,000 miles or 45 calendar days, whichever occurs first. The successful Proposer may be tasked with coordinating inspections to ensure compliance. The City’s forms shall be used for safety inspections as delineated in Exhibit A. Responses to this IFB must include a fixed rate for inspections in Exhibit B. B. Repairs and Diagnostics Should any items require attention, the successful Proposer shall provide the Contract Officer with pricing on labor and/or parts. All estimates must be approved by the Contract Officer. Labor for repairs and diagnostics shall be charged at the same rate per hour. Responses to this IFB must include a fixed labor rate in Exhibit B. Diagnostic work exceeding one (1) hour must be approved by the Contract Officer. Pricing for Parts may not exceed 10% of the advertised rate of NAPA Auto Parts at the time of repair. For all other parts not carried by NAPA, pricing may not exceed 10% of the advertised rate of the respective manufacturer’s parts department or OEM affiliate. C. Transportation of Vehicles for Service The successful Proposer may be asked to provide pick-up and/or drop-off service on an asneeded basis. Responses to this IFB must include a fixed rate for 1-way service in Exhibit B. Transport rate should be based on the distance between the City’s Corporate Yard (18601 S Main St, Gardena, CA 90248) and shop. D. Mobile Service/Towing The successful Proposer may also be asked to provide (or subcontract) Mobile repair and Towing service on an as‐needed basis. Responses to this IFB must include fixed rates for both services in Exhibit B. Towing may be subcontracted upon approval by Contract Officer. Towing rates should be based on the distance between the City’s Corporate Yard (18601 S Main St, Gardena, CA 90248) and shop. E. Repair Orders The successful Proposer shall provide Repair Order forms for all completed jobs. Forms must include: Vehicle in/out dates and mileages Unit no. and License plate no. Line items: Original concerns, findings, recommendations, corrections Charges for subcontracted work if applicable The successful Proposer must be able to warranty all parts and labor for a minimum of 90 days or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.
