Specifications include, but are not limited to: This solicitation is to establish a Service Contract to provide Linen Services as specified for the Louisiana Department of Veteran Affairs – War Veteran Home; A. The Contractor shall provide all required Linen/Laundry services for cleaning of DVA Louisiana Veterans Home owned Linen. Pick-up and delivery shall be twice (2x) a week (Tuesday and Thursday). Service shall be two (2) days a week. This includes holidays. The contractor shall pick up linen and return linen within twenty-four (24) hours of notification of closure. B. The Contractor will furnish linen bags with identification tags for resident’s linen, bins and carts, which shall be of sufficient size and quantity for the transporting of soiled linens. C. The Contractor shall thoroughly sanitize laundry carts after they are emptied of soiled linen and this must be done prior to placing clean linen in the laundry carts for return to facility. D. The Contractor shall provide a twenty-four (24) hour turnaround time for cleaning of linen, including weekends and holidays. Soiled linen shall be picked up twice (2x) a week and clean linen shall be delivered twice (2x) a week. Linen inventory will be managed by the contractor to provide sufficient deliveries to meet linen requirements. E. Unit price shall include the rental of the items, all labor, materials and packing, tagging, freight, delivery and pickup. F. Contractor shall designate a contact person to provide on-going communication, coordinate servicing, answer questions and expedite service when requested. G. Contractor shall meet all Federal and State Infection Control Requirements. Contractor shall observe standard infection control precautions of CDC, OSHA, APIC for best practices and guidelines to ensure cross contamination does not occur. H. Contractor must possess all current licenses required to provide laundry services. Contractor must be accredited through the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HCLA) and must provide DVA with a copy of the certificate of accreditation. Certificate of accreditation must be submitted prior to award of contract, and certified for the entire term of the contract. Proof of license(s) will be required prior to award being made against this solicitation. I. Contractor must be trained in Blood Bourne Pathogens for treatment of any contaminated linen, which is items or garments that have been exposed to potentially infectious materials which includes blood and human body fluids and waste. J. Upon termination of this contract, the contractor shall retain ownership and control of the linen as provided in this contract. (Excluding DVA owned linen)
