Specifications include, but are not limited to: During the weeks after the Christmas holiday, the City of Omaha will operate five (5) Christmas tree collection sites. Omaha has conducted this program for more than 25 years. All collection sites covered by this contract are within the City limits of Omaha. There are additional sites operated by the satellite communities to Omaha. A limited number of volunteers along with limited City staff assistance will help the public at the two busiest sites on Saturday January 7th 2023, and Sunday January 8th 2023. Also, a limited amount of City staff assistance will help to patrol and maintain order at the collection sites during the weeks the collection sites are open. The City of Omaha will advertise that the sites are open until Tuesday January 10th, 2023. Note that the public advertised closing date does not coincide with the closing date of the contract as listed in this bid. The City opens the sites on December 24th. It is the intent of these specifications that the successful bidder will provide all labor, materials, equipment and other items as may be necessary to grind/chip the trees received for use as mulch, creating a material that may be marketed or distribute for beneficial use. The sites for 2022-2023 season are similar as the previous year: ● Tranquility Park NORTH: 120th Street & Fort St. NOTE: Due to ongoing construction, this location is subject to change. Drop site will remain in proximate area ● Orchard Park: 66th Street North of Hartman Ave. 57 blocks North of Dodge Street. ● F Street Football Field: “F” Street East of 156th. Parking lot east of field. ● Ta Ha Zouka Park: 20801 Elkhorn Dr. ● Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium: Far northwest corner of the parking lot, near the intersection of S 13th St and Bob Gibson Blvd.
