Specifications include, but are not limited to: Ice Slicer Elite Granular Ice Melt or Equal Complex Chloride – Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, Calcium Chloride with corrosion inhibition. The chemical deicer shall have a corrosion inhibitor that meets a corrosion percent effectiveness of eighty-five percent (85%) or lower. The corrosion percent effectiveness is based on the corrosion weight loss of salt and measured in mills, with salt having a corrosive percent effectiveness of one hundred percent (100%). The corrosion rate for all products approved in this price agreement shall be reduced by a minimum of fifteen percent (15%) when compared to the corrosion rate of salt. Product must include corrosion inhibitor prior to leaving original manufacturing plant. The chemical deicer must not cake when mixed with sand or cinders in different proportions or when stored outside.
