Any other manufacturer and model offered must be pre-approved before bid submittal. 101.0 POWER TRAIN: 101.1 ENGINE 101.1.1 Acceptable Engine: Cummins B6.7 101.1.2 325HP 101.1.3 750 lb.-ft Peak Torque 101.2 Engine oil filtration is to be spin-on or cartridge type. 101.3 Air Intake System: Air cleaner to be a heavy-duty dry element type. Air intake piping to be under the hood. Air cleaner system to have a restriction gauge or indicator. 101.4 Engine Computer Controls: 101.4.1 Automatic idle control system to have an automatic override when the PTO on the truck is being used in stationary mode. 101.4.2 PTO is to be turned off automatically at speeds of 2-6 MPH. 101.4.3 Max PTO engine speed: 1,500 RPM. 101.5 Emissions and Exhaust System: 101.5.1 Emissions after treatment system provided must offer unobstructed clear back of cab configuration, right side frame mounted. 101.5.2 Vertical exhaust pipe must be OEM shielded behind the rearmost pillar or along the entry door at a minimum to prevent burns or injury in case of accidental contact by personnel. Exhaust stack to have a curved turn-out tip or flat top with a weighted flap to prevent water and debris from entering the system. 101.5.3 The exhaust shall extend a minimum of 18 inches above the cab. 101.6 Cooling System: 101.6.1 Shall include a drain cock or other similar method of draining the cooling system from a low point in the system. 101.6.2 Anti-Freeze: Delo Extended Life coolant RED, or compatible, and set to a protection level of minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit. 101.6.3 Bug/rock full coverage protector screen to be securely installed behind the grill in front of the radiator. 101.7 Fuel System: 101.7.1 80-100 gallon capacity, DOT-approved fuel tank, mounted below driver’s door, aluminum construction. 101.7.2 Fuel filter(s) to be spin-on or cartridge type. 101.7.3 Fuel system to include a heated fuel/water separator. (Mounting location not to interfere with the installation of a flatbed or van body on the chassis). 101.7.4 The fuel tank shall have a minimum of ¼ tank of fuel upon delivery. 101.8 Engine Brake: Exhaust-style engine brake controlled by a separate on/off switch. 101.9 Winterization: 101.9.1 Immersion type 110-volt AC block coolant heater of highest appropriate wattage as provided by the OEM manufacturer. 101.9.2 Immersion type 110-volt AC oil pan heater of highest appropriate wattage as provided by the OEM manufacturer. 101.9.3 Battery maintainer/charger. Automatic type, 3-5 amps. Mounted in the cab or inside the battery box.
