Specifications include, but are not limited to: Services to be performed: A. Remove and relocate both existing gates, motors, loops, guards, chain and pedestal intercom to the location designated at the bid-walk (if applicable). B. Install traffic rated electrical junction box at old gate motor location. C. Install man gate along sidewalk section of fencing. D. Install new loop wire #16 XPPL, gasoline and oil resistant. Test loops prior to application of groove filler. E. Cut a groove 1/4-inch wide by 1-1/2-inches deep in a shape as required by gate operator manufacturer. F. Place 4 turns of wire in loop slot. Then twist ends together to form a lead-in wire must be twisted all the way to the control box. Loop wires in saw cut should be at least 3/8- inch below grade level G. Fill over loop with epoxy or a Caltrans approved asphaltic emulsion sealant as called for by the loop manufacturer. H. Furnish and install a Rapid Entry System key switch for local Fire Department, Knox Company part #3502 or local fire agency approved box key switch. Install switch on gooseneck post to provide access for emergency fire services. Verify lock system with local Fire Department. I. Lube all points of friction, including but not limited to, rollers, bearings, gears and guides, etc. J. Ensure the gate is balanced and make any adjustments needed for proper clearances and tolerances. K. Test the function of the gate to ensure it is operational. L. Oil any moving parts, align, tighten drive chain on gate, set limit switches, etc. M. Back fill, ensure level and patch with asphalt cold patch. N. Contractor shall keep the work area clean from debris and remove all trash, including packaging materials off-site on a daily basis. O. Contractor shall provide a one (1) year no dollar limit workmanship guarantee and the manufacturer’s warranty on all parts installed as part of this contract.
