Specifications include, but are not limited to: Through discussions and extensive review, Merrimack County has allocated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to be used in support of nonprofits that align with the Mission of Merrimack County - working together for a safer community - and serve residents within. The County is allocating $2 Million in funds to support such projects that meet the criteria set forth by the U.S. Department of Treasury. Grant requests should focus on the following areas; Addressing health disparities and the social determinants of health; o Examples include Safe housing, transportation, and neighborhoods Racism, discrimination, and violence Education, job opportunities, and income Access to nutritious foods and physical activity opportunities Polluted air and water Language and literacy skills Investing in housing and neighborhoods; Addressing educational disparities; Promoting healthy childhood environments; Or other requests consistent with the mission and current program focus of Merrimack County.
