Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Four County Landfill Site is surrounded by a fence and consists primarily of a grass-covered landfill cap with wooded areas located on the site perimeter. The landfill contains three lined hazardous waste cells that generate leachate that must be manually managed on approximately a weekly basis. The site also contains a building structure which houses a tractor with a mowing attachment and 1,500-gallon capacity tank wagon, as well as a 6,500-gallon capacity above ground poly tank with secondary containment. The State of Indiana has assumed Operation and Maintenance responsibility for the site which includes: - Mowing of the landfill cap - Inspections and maintenance of the landfill cap and other site structures - Landfill leachate collection and management - Landfill leachate transportation - Landfill leachate disposal IDEM intends to retain a qualified environmental contractor to provide the above services.
