Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1 Project Description The Public Works Department anticipates this project focusing on three primary elements: Facility Boiler Replacement, various HVAC system replacement and improvements and design of a backup generator system for the mechanical systems. 3.2 HVAC Control Systems 3.2.1 HVAC equipment controls will be designed as needed to meet the demands of the new boiler/ heat operating system requirements. Any additionally monitoring points and equipment for pumps needed to reflect actual and correct sequence of operation will be included. All new equipment installed with this project shall be through a single BAS system for monitoring and control system. 3.3 Boiler Replacement 3.3.1 The facilities boiler systems are nearing the end of their useful lives. This project will involve the review of the building systems and defining the operations of the existing conditions while establishing the upgrades necessary through this assessment. This work will require tracing through all of the piping systems boiler loops. The intent of this project is to provide a new boiler, verify piping and controls are working correctly and are able to be monitored going forward. Any components required to accomplish this shall be included in a bid ready set of construction documents. 3.4 Backup Power Improvements – Design Scope & Fees as Added Alternate 3.4.1 The existing boilers and HVAC controls do not have backup power provisions for the building heating systems and safety operations equipment panels. The intent of this project is to provide backup generator power for all the boiler and fire and life safety panels with an automatic transfer switch located in and a backup power generator adjacent to the facility.
