Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Farmington (COF) is seeking bids from Contractors for renovating the Brookhaven East Park located at 805 West Apache Street adjacent to Childhaven Incorporated social services facility. This project will be utilizing federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and will consists of improvements meeting the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements to the parking layout, ramps, and sidewalks accessing the play areas. Shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, and supervision necessary to replace select portions of the existing sidewalk areas at Brookhaven Park East and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and per applicable standards and requirements. Staging area will be provided in the north parking lot of the site. The Work: All sidewalks and ramps shall be constructed in accordance with ADA standards. The Work shall include, but shall not be limited to the following (not necessarily in the order indicated): A. Contractor shall demolish and remove the selected portions of the concrete, curb, and gutter; sawcut existing asphalt for new curb and gutter; remove existing standup curb perimeter of play areas. Concrete shall be removed to the nearest expansion joint, control joint, or for partial removals, in the location(s) as designated by the Project Manager. B. Excavate to remove existing base material to subgrade, install and compact new 3” thick aggregate base material in preparation for the placement of new concrete in accordance with the contract documents. Recompact existing subgrade to 95% compaction prior to placing new aggregate base material. C. Place 4500 psi concrete (4” minimum thickness). Install expansion joints, control joints, and provide a broom finish surface to match existing on new concrete surfaces per the contract specifications. All concrete surfaces may not exceed 2.0 % grade in all directions. D. Construct new concrete standup curb for play area footprint. E. Construct new concrete curb and gutter as per contract drawings. F. Install new asphalt paving as per contract drawings. G. Install ADA parking sign, paint new access aisle, and adjacent striping as per contract drawings. H. Construct ADA ramps as noted in contract drawings. The cross slope of all pedestrian ramps may not exceed 2.0 %. The contractor shall be required to replace or rebuild any ramps that fail final inspection.
